Few things can be quite distracting especially when you are into reading an interesting e-book over the web on an Android tablet. A pop-up ad would fill up the device screen blocking the view, and annoying you, of course. Even as the pop-up advertisement can be tough to evade, there are some practices, which can do away with the pop-up ads on Android, and ensure you a pleasurable read going forward.
The pop-up ads disabling method mentioned below was firstly tried and tested in Android Nougat. Yet again, the process to block pop-up ads is pretty much the same on Android 8.0.
To browse over the web on a third-party web browser minus pop-ups, you may need to install a third-party application and configure the feature on your Android tablet. For instance, if you are using Ghostery Privacy Browser on your Android tablet featuring Android Nougat or later, tap on the three-dot menu as you did earlier on Chrome, and tap on Block Popups to enable the feature.
In addition, you can also navigate to Ghostery > Tracker Blocking Options and choose Block Everything. Doing this on the Ghostery Privacy Browser would negate the probability of seeing any pop-up ads that may annoy your browsing process.
It shall be noted that Ghostery is one choice from many such apps up to download and install on Play Store. However, using the said app would give legibility to the different types of trackers popping up on websites.
